  • AHIMA Releases Advocacy Training Modules

  • FDA: Annual COVID-19 vaccinations could become norm

    Administration of annual COVID-19 vaccines alongside seasonal influenza vaccines could reduce hospitalizations and save lives, FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, Principal Deputy Commissioner Janet Woodcock and Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research Director Peter Marks wrote in JAMA Viewpoint. The FDA's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee discussed the idea in April, and members indicated a preference for use of a single vaccine composition; they said data are needed to determine whether the vaccine should be monovalent, bivalent or multivalent; and they said that any new vaccine composition should be developed for use as a primary vaccination and as a booster.Full Story: Regulatory Focus (5/3) 

  • WHO report links 15M deaths to COVID-19
     

    COVID-19 is responsible for close to 15 million deaths, caused by the infection itself or because health systems were overwhelmed by the pandemic, according to the World Health Organization.
