 The CDC Learning Connection connects the public health and healthcare workforce to quality training opportunities and educational tools developed by CDC, CDC partners, and other federal agencies. More than a website, CDC Learning Connection engages public health and healthcare professionals around the world via social media messaging and a monthly e-newsletter.

 

The CDC Learning Connection website:

        • Features training opportunities that align with current public health events and observances.
        • Offers access to CDC’s training opportunities through CDC TRAIN.

Mental health app privacy policies among the weakest

An analysis by Mozilla found mental health apps have some of the weakest privacy protections, and many apps' privacy policies don't allow opting in or out of data sharing and can be changed at any time. Military health plan offering behavioral health app

Magellan Federal is making behavioral health support and resources available on demand to military members and their families at three bases through NeuroFlow's digital platform. Hospital tests remote monitoring of patients with cancer

Oncologists at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus are conducting a series of studies on remote patient monitoring to detect early signs of febrile neutropenia, a potentially fatal complication of cancer treatment that usually responds well to timely antibiotic therapy. The researchers are testing a Bluetooth- and cellular network-enabled, stick-on body temperature sensor as well as other aspects of remote patient care.Full Story: HealthLeaders Media (5/4) 

Machine learning may improve lung cancer surgery outcomes

Natural language processing and machine learning that mine computed tomography reports and other data in EHRs accurately predicted lymph node metastasis prior to surgery for resectable non-small cell lung cancer, according to a study in JMIR Medical Informatics.
